You’re not a competitive athlete, and that’s not what you’re after. For you, sport is your own time, with friends or solo, that gives shape to your week and makes you feel good. HOPP was designed by FIFA-certified sports physiotherapists to help you understand what’s happening and get back to your practice without wasting time or money unnecessarily.

Sport, your balance

A football match on Tuesday evening, a run on Sunday morning, a gym session between two meetings: it’s not a sporting career, it’s a way of life. You don’t want to lose that rhythm. But unlike a competitive athlete followed by a team of staff, you often manage your own practice alone, without really knowing what’s reasonable or not when a niggle shows up.

That’s exactly who HOPP was designed for: serious support, with no medical jargon, calibrated to a recreational practice rather than to a professional athlete’s.

Why a niggle changes everything, even with no competitive stakes

A lingering pain, and suddenly your whole routine is put on hold. No rankings or sponsors at stake, but a real impact on your mood, your sleep, your energy. Many recreational athletes hesitate between two extremes: carrying on as if nothing happened, at the risk of worsening the injury, or stopping everything as a precaution and losing their fitness for nothing.

Between the two, there’s a third option: understand precisely what’s going on so you can adapt your practice rather than stop it.

What HOPP gives you

  • A programme calibrated to your practice, not to a professional athlete’s

  • Exercises you can do at home or at the gym, with no special equipment

  • A progressive return to sport to avoid a relapse

  • Clear explanations, with no medical jargon

How HOPP follows your pace, week after week

One week, you’ve got three sport sessions planned. The next, just one, because work or family take over. HOPP doesn’t give you a fixed 6-week plan that ignores your reality: every day, you say how you feel, and the programme adjusts accordingly — a bit more load if all is well, a bit less if the niggle reminds you it’s there.

HOPP physio tip:

for the recreational athlete, the most common injury isn’t linked to the intensity of the effort but to its irregularity. Coming back too fast after a break, or jumping into an intense session after several weeks off, puts strain on tissues that haven’t had time to readapt. That’s often where the injury starts, more than in the effort itself.

In brief

Why HOPP, for a recreational athlete

  • A clear explanation of your injury in 3 minutes, no appointment needed

  • A programme designed for a recreational practice, not for a pro athlete

  • A daily adjustment based on how you feel and your schedule

  • A progressive return to rediscover the joy of moving, without a relapse

HOPP physio advice:

before returning to sport after a niggle, test it on everyday movements (climbing stairs, squatting down, jogging on the spot for a few seconds). If the pain stays stable or mild, a progressive return is generally possible. If it increases noticeably, it’s better to first understand what’s going on before pushing through.
